Plans and oversees human resources functional operations in the USA, including but not limited to recruitment, compensation, benefits, on boarding, training, employee relations, health and safety, immigration, and compliance. Develops and administers human resource programs and policies to reflect the organisation’s mission and values and support company goals, achieve objectives, and positively engage the employees.

The Human Resources Manager needs to maintain a thorough knowledge of federal, state, and where operations require, municipal employment laws to advise on solutions for issues and evolving organizational needs. He/she will produce budgets/policies/procedures which will support the infrastructure of the Company in the USA. The position will have a dual report to the Group HR Manager (based in the UK) and the Chief Administration Officer.

Key Accountabilities

  • Maintain Company Offer Letter templates and policies, ensuring legal regulations and compliance in all States where the Company operates.
  • Develop a strong knowledge of Company culture, policy and processes and implement the US HR operations accordingly.
  • Manage all HR administration in the USA from Recruitment through to finalization and signature of Offer Letters, ensuring employee files are properly maintained.
  • Implement/maintain a suitable HR document recording and Holiday Management System, compliant in all applicable States.
  • Manage and administer the Company’s payroll requirements in close consultation with the Global HR and Payroll Managers and the CFO, North America.
  • Collaborate with Department Heads on recruitment requirements and implement a robust recruitment plan and process.
  • Create a resilient on-boarding plan and ensure that the Employee Handbook is suitable to be utilized across the Company’s offices in the States, ensuring proper practices and standards are being adhered to.
  • Develop mandatory training programs for all levels to be completed during the on-boarding process.
  • Provide input to the Chief Administration Officer and Group HR Manager on the HR section of the HR & Legal budget.
  • Responsible for the Day to Day HR operations in the USA.
  • Manage the relocation process of any staff who move from other offices within the group.
  • Work with all US staff and their Department Heads to provide HR support as needed and resolve issues which arise in the workplace.
  • Keep informed of all developments in regards to US legal regulations and compliance which may affect the Company.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • 10 years at an HR Management level.
  • Experience in providing HR support to a new start up business within the States would be an advantage.
  • Experience of working in a multi-State business.
  • Detailed knowledge of US Employment Law Compliance at all levels.
  • Proven ability to manage and develop staff, build strong relationships with Stakeholders and provide excellent service.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Desirable

  • Bilingual is highly preferred.
  • Willingness to travel nationally if required.

Ad-hoc tasks

  • The Employee may be required to assist with ad-hoc tasks as and when required.
  • The nature of this event is such that it may be necessary to amend or add to the Employee’s responsibilities as we get closer to 2026 and he/she may be asked to perform additional tasks that are allocated to him/her by senior management, specific to the projects at hand.

General

  • Working hours are 08h30-17h30. Due to the nature of the business you will be required to work after hours and at weekends as required.
  • Holiday Entitlement is 25 Holidays per year worked – accrued on a monthly basis + Local Federal Holidays
  • Diligently, timeously and efficiently carry out duties assigned by the CAO and Directors of the Company on any projects you may be involved in.
  • Provide your full support to the Company in meeting deadlines which require your input.
